EARTH MONTH EVENT SUBMISSIONS
  • Earth Day/Week/Month is here!

  • Dartmouth Sustainability is compiling a calendar of Earth Day-related events this spring! If you are planning (or hoping) to host something of this kind, please fill out this form to let us know.

  • We have limited funds available to support student projects and initiatives for Earth Month. If you’ve been working on an idea and need an extra boost to make it come to life, let’s talk! Email erin.e.kelly@dartmouth.edu and jacob.t.garland.25@dartmouth.edu. 

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 8th

FARM WORK DAY
8AM - 10AM | Rides from behind Robo
  • Come out to the O-Farm Tuesday morning for a workday where we'll be seeding among other things!! We will be leaving from behind Robo at 8am, and we'll be back by 10am. No experience required, just bring a water bottle and dress for the weather!

FREE MARKET THRIFT STORE
6PM - 8PM | North Mass Basement
  • Excited by our new thrift store and want to help sustain our efforts? Shocked by the amount of waste on campus and want a tangible way to curb it? Join us for a volunteer work session at the Free Market!

  • Help fold and sort clothing, organize the thrift store space, and more.


 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9th

SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE HOURS
12PM - 1:30PM | Robinson 106
  • Join Sustainability staff for delicious homemade sweets and susty conversation!

  • All are welcome, whether you've been involved in the past or are looking to get started with Sustainability now! Share ideas, ask questions, or just take a little snack break with us.

CRAFT AND CLIMATE SERIES Craft & Climate Series
4pm - 7pm |Dartmouth Sustainability Office IR 180
  • Join us for an evening of crafting and community with fellow climate activists! We’ll have craft supplies available, but folks are welcome to bring their own craft projects.

  • Working on a crochet or knitting project? Bring it with you! Making your way through a new coloring book? Bring it with you! Working on a scrapbook? Bring it with you! Filling up your sketchbook? Bring it with you! Testing out some new watercolors? Bring them with you! All crafts and crafters are welcome.

  • Please bring you own beverage, snacks will be provided. Come at the beginning or drop in whenever works best for you! There are no rules to Craft and Climate other than to have fun!

  • Come swing by our on-campus thrift store, the Free Market, this weekend! All clothing is reclaimed from Dartmouth's waste streams. Instead of buying new clothing, get second-hand for free!

OTHER EVENTS

100 DAYS SPEAKER SERIES: BIPARTISAN DISCUSSION ON ENERGY POLICY
Monday, April 7th | 5:10PM – 6:30PM | Irving Institute Atrium
  • With energy policy front and center during the Trump Administration’s first 100 days, join us for a bipartisan conversation with The Honorable Dan Brouillette, 15th United States Secretary of Energy, and Kevin Knobloch, former Chief of Staff for the U.S. Department of Energy, that examines policy priorities for the new administration and congress, key trends shaping the energy landscape, and how these policies and trends will impact energy markets and the industry.

  • The discussion will be moderated by Professor Charlie Wheelan and students.

GREENLAND'S GLACIERS - BRIDGING SCIENCE AND LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Wednesday, April 9th | 4:30PM - 5:30PM | Haldeman Hall 41 (Kreindler Conference Hall)
  • Kerim Hestens Nisancioglu will speak about Greenland ice melt, fjord changes, and combining science with local knowledge to address community concerns.
